Hope you all had a wonderfull Christmas and hope you all have a very Happy New Year.
As I'm sure you are all to aware the weather has not really been on our side recently in terms of getting all the variables right, i:e wind, dry weather and tides :D
However after searching the country for the best conditions availble to us for a day trip Kempsey Kite Club came up trumps on 28th December.
We arrived at 10.30 am and were greeted by Tomma and lots of friendly and welcoming faces. With effortless signing in and organising we were blown away with the hundreds of acres of flat, hilly, smoothe lush green fields to kite on. Even with all the rain and horrendous weather we had, the area was still so well kept and kiteable.
Myself and Steve had the warmest welcome from everyone and was impressed to see around 20 people there even on a day when low winds were forecast......What a popular club!!
It took a while for enough wind to come through to fly but even in the 10mph winds that turned up (as Tomma promised) everyone was out flying there kites and enjoying themsleves. Was so impressed to have such clean winds for inland flying. With a good run off the hill we managed to get some air and get in some tricks. Sadly there was not enough wind to do much freestyle wise but that didnt stop us having a fab day with some brillant people and with around 5 hrs kiting. Sun was shinning and we were flying :D Not a bad day some would say.
Just wanted to say a big well done to Josh (Tommas Son) for doing ace in the buggy.....good work dude.
I recommend everyone to head to this club even if its for the day, such a lovely crowd of diverse kiters and a brillant little spot in the countryside, even if you just go to meet everyone.
Big Thanks to Tomma for sorting us out and to everyone for being so welcoming. ILL BE BACK :D (as long as Colin Gooch promises not to interview me again but to interview Steve ;) )
Feel free to check out the below interviews of myself and Steve if you fancy a chuckle.
